Water Softeners & Filtration in Mountain’s Edge, NV
Mountain’s Edge is one of the newer master-planned communities in the southwest valley, and many of its homes still have their original water heaters, faucets, and appliances. Hard water starts working on them from day one. Water Quality of Las Vegas helps Mountain’s Edge homeowners protect that newer equipment with water softeners, scale control, and filtration, starting with a free water test at your home. Every project starts with a clear, no-pressure recommendation. Same-day service is available.
The easiest time to prevent scale is before it builds up. Treating your water early keeps fixtures clean, helps water heaters and dishwashers run the way they should, and saves time on cleaning.
We offer free estimates, same-day service, and 100% financing. Call or text 702-623-2724 24/7 to schedule your free water analysis.
Many Mountain’s Edge families pair a whole-home softener or ScalePrep unit with a reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink. That covers scale throughout the house and gives you drinking water you will actually want to drink. If you are not sure where to start, our free test takes the guesswork out of it.
Where Mountain’s Edge water comes from
According to Clark County, Mountain’s Edge is an approximately 2,500-acre community in the unincorporated town of Enterprise, south of Blue Diamond Road and west of Rainbow Boulevard. It was first approved by the County Commission in 2002 and includes about 700 acres of parks and public facilities.
As part of unincorporated Clark County, Mountain’s Edge is within the Las Vegas Valley Water District service area. The district’s water is about 90% Lake Mead and Colorado River water and about 10% groundwater, with groundwater supplying a larger share during summer peaks.
Hard water in newer homes
LVVWD rates the water as very hard, at about 16 to 17 grains per gallon, and says it can leave chalky build-up on fixtures and spots on glassware. In a newer home, that typically shows up as:
- Spots on new shower glass and fixtures within weeks of move-in.
- Scale forming inside tank or tankless water heaters.
- Film on dishes and a dishwasher that does not seem to clean as well.
- Chlorine taste at the tap from LVVWD’s disinfection.
Water treatment options for Mountain’s Edge
We start with a free in-home test so you know your actual hardness and chlorine levels. Then we check your plumbing, including whether your home has a softener loop, and recommend equipment sized to your household. Most installs take a single visit.
- Water softeners for new homes: Professional Series systems with computerized, timer, or manual regeneration. Many homes already have a softener loop plumbed in.
- Salt-free ScalePrep systems: scale control with no salt, no chemicals, and no filter changes.
- Whole house water filtration: activated carbon for chlorine taste and odor at every tap. Read 15 things to know about whole house filters before you buy.
- Reverse osmosis drinking water systems: purified water at the kitchen sink instead of bottled water.
- Point-of-use filters: under-sink or inline filters for a fridge or single faucet.
- Iron & H2S filtration: for rotten-egg odor or iron staining, if it ever comes up.

Mountain’s Edge water FAQ
My house is new. Do I really need treatment?
Your water is just as hard as in an older home. Treating it early protects new appliances and fixtures before scale has a chance to build.
Will a softener work with a tankless water heater?
Yes. Softened water helps keep scale out of the heat exchanger. We will size the system to your home during the free visit.
Is Mountain’s Edge tap water safe?
Yes. LVVWD treats and monitors the water and describes hardness as an aesthetic issue. Most homeowners treat it for taste and to protect their home.
